King of the Vaal

The King of the Vaal Regatta is hosted annually by Deneysville Aquatic Club, on the Vaal Dam to establish just who is ‘The King’. It is the first regatta of the New Year, which also serves as a good warm up event in preparation for the Round the Island race, which takes place on the following weekend. 


Despite attracting a very small entry this year the racing was extremely close. All teams had to be on top form to keep ahead of the opposition. The defending champion, Rob Willcox was there. The challenge was on. Who was going to topple the King?
